DM Server Update

Hey fraggers!
I updated our DM server with some hot new maps. If you ever played quake3 you should have been in contact with CPM and OSP maps. Well, you can enjoy those maps on our DM server now! Furthermore I did some tweaking to the config, especially towards antilag =)

If you cannot stand downloading through nexuiz, download the cpm/osp mappack: http://85.31.186.161/maps/dm_ospcpm_mappack.zip
To use, extract the zip file and copy the *.pk3 files into your nexuiz data/ folder.

You can still find our server as usual on: 85.31.186.161:26000 ^eXiLe 2.5.2 (DM) (Minsta|Hook|CPM+OSP Maps) ^eX.

Heya!

I really enjoy playing on those exile-servers - having never played any other shooter than Nexuiz, the maps seem fresh to me, the gameplay is fine... only I hardly ever meet anyone playing there, and that is a pitty.

I would like to see all you eXiLe-members support those servers a little bit more - I am pretty fed up with the usual servers like PK (always the same maps) or Prophets (the laggy shooting-frequency makes me mad!). The ToT-servers are cool sometimes, but they do have problems with short freezes every now and then, plus for some reason they give most players an unusually high ping (mine is between 40 and 70 on the servers mentioned above, on ToT 100 is the average).

As I said: those eXiLe-servers are fine, so why not using them? Support your local dealers...

Two things I'd like to suggest:

- The abillity to votecall sv_fbskins off. I slowly get used to matches which use FBSkins, they seem to be quite popular these days, but I'd prefer to be able to at least let players vote about them

- Please use better bots. One reason to hang out on the eXiLe-servers waiting for others to log on would be a bot that makes waiting a lttle less boring

No matter what we do though the people who have monopolized and manipulated the nexuiz population will always have a bigger player base, All the poor quality minsta servers should shut down honestly and enable everyone to be free to play on real servers rather than monopolize everything into fake internet friendships.

I totally agree about the server quality though. Then again 2999 ping it's not like I can tell what quality is

However the bot stays! I actually think that bot is too challenging. It fires back sometimes, I don't like that!

Problem with eXile servers is that they are often laggy between 18:00 and 21:00 (GMT). Not for everyone though. Well, this issue will be resolved when we get a better server hoster in December. So, wait 4 weeks and you'll get a lagfree Minsta DM server with cool maps and good config =)

It is possible. Vcall fbskin_off - the "vhelp" cmd can be quite helpful sometimes

me11 recently sent me a huge list of bot cvars, I'll try to tweak our bot a bit. Though you got to understand, if it gets too good, n00bs like feonewbie will get frustrated and ragequit. Then they will come to me and cry about the evil bot D:<
